Hi! I’m Alanna!
I understand first hand what it’s like to trip over Lego or Hot Wheels cars and that life happens! We all want an organized home, but getting there and keeping it that way can feel overwhelming. I’ve found that having systems in place to deal with the day-to-day “mess” means that our days run smoother and calmer with less stress. When everything has a place, we have more time for the things we really want to spend our time doing because we spend less time tidying up and looking for things that we (or our kids) have misplaced.
Before having my second child, I was working in the corporate world trying to balance it all. I remember the morning rush of drop off before heading into the office, the commute home thinking about everything that needed to be done, and feeling like there were never enough hours in the day. It was daunting and overwhelming, and I felt the weight of the daily responsibilities.
While on maternity leave with my second child, I took some time to organize different spaces in my home and realized how much easier and calmer it made my day-to-day life. Yes, life had changed and I wasn’t commuting to an office job, but I now had a newborn (which is a full-time job in itself!) on top of having a toddler and trying to manage a home. After organizing just a few small bins, I felt a shift almost instantly. We were no longer wasting time looking for things, we knew what we had, so weren’t buying duplicates and creating clutter, and it just felt like there was more room to breathe. I quickly experienced the difference that these small changes made and became determined to help other people see the benefits of an organized space!
I look forward to sharing with you just how rewarding the act of organizing can be!
